Design and develop innovative infrastructure and backend services to support large-scale fintech products
Collaborate with engineers, product management, designers, and external partners to identify and implement product improvements and features
Take ownership of the entire product development lifecycle including architectural design, development, deployment, documentation, and maintenance
Provide mentorship to junior developers and advocate for improvements to the codebase
Own the technical roadmap, prioritize features, and define high-value solutions
Conduct deep technical exploration to stay ahead of industry trends and design scalable systems
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to iterate and optimize user experience and technical performance
Lead engineering efforts for product launches and own post-launch technical strategy to ensure scalability and performance
Requirements
8+ years of relevant experience across scalable backend systems, complex infrastructure, APIs, or distributed systems
Strong background in building scalable, high-performance fintech or wealth management systems
Experience architecting services and systems using well-accepted design patterns to enable future scaling
Ability to navigate ambiguity and assist product team with scoping and discovery
Proven track record leading projects from conception to completion and balancing technical trade-offs
Experience analyzing, diagnosing, and preventing performance problems; expertise in application performance monitoring and log analytics tools
Experience with financial transaction systems, digital wallets, ledgering, reconciliation, compliance (e.g., KYC), and payment infrastructure is a plus
Preferred: Experience with Spring Boot, Kotlin or Java, AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes
Located in San Francisco, CA and able to work hybrid (2–3 days/week in office)
