About the role
- Shape and refine compliance frameworks, operating models, and governance structures to support long-term program effectiveness
- Develop or support compliance metrics and reporting to monitor program health, identify gaps, and guide decision-making
- Conduct regulatory gap analyses, partner with stakeholders to assess/control effectiveness, and develop actionable remediation recommendations
- Lead and support policy and framework development by identifying regulatory requirements, coordinating stakeholder reviews, and maintaining policy governance structures
- Advise cross-functional teams on regulatory expectations and internal compliance requirements during process, system, or product development
- Design and deliver compliance training to promote awareness, accountability, and understanding of regulatory obligations
- Support integrity of resiliency planning through coordination of documentation reviews and participation in testing
- Facilitate risk assessments, monitor remediation plans, and review program implementation to evaluate control design and effectiveness
- Prepare and deliver concise reports and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders on compliance risks, trends, gaps, and remediation
- Monitor and synthesize regulatory changes, translating them into actionable insights and program updates
- Manage Second Line responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and internal reviews by collaborating with business owners to compile documentation and address feedback
- Track progress of compliance-related initiatives and provide constructive, risk-based feedback
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to promote a strong culture of compliance
- Provide informal mentorship and support to peers by sharing knowledge and reviewing work
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related governance role, ideally within a Second Line of Defense function
- Understand how to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, actionable guidance
- Communicate clearly and confidently, adapting your message for different audiences and levels of technical detail
- Detail-oriented while maintaining sight of the bigger picture
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of deliverables
- Experience building and evolving compliance programs
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and contributing to development of new policies, frameworks, and documentation
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence outcomes
- Experience supporting or working with global teams and adapting to different regulatory, cultural, or operational contexts
