About the role
- Design end-to-end AWS solution architectures aligned with functional, non-functional, and security requirements.
- Define scalable multi-tenant SaaS architectures, including authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation strategies.
- Architect systems combining serverless (Lambda, EventBridge) and containerized workloads (ECS, Fargate).
- Design secure API layers using API Gateway, ALB, and OAuth2 / JWT / SAML-based authentication flows.
- Lead architectural decisions around data ingestion, indexing, and search, including vector databases and semantic search services.
- Design AI-enabled architectures integrating LLMs (Amazon Bedrock or equivalent), vector stores (e.g., Pinecone / OpenSearch), and asynchronous processing.
- Define event-driven workflows using EventBridge, SQS, and background processing patterns.
- Establish observability, monitoring, and logging strategies across distributed systems.
- Ensure architectures meet security, compliance, and reliability standards (IAM, WAF, Shield, Secrets Manager, encryption).
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to guide implementation and ensure architectural alignment.
- Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and decision records.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software architecture, cloud architecture, or senior engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in AWS core services, including:
- Compute: Lambda, ECS (Fargate), EC2
- Networking: VPC, ALB, NAT Gateway, Route 53
- Security: IAM, WAF, Shield, Cognito, Secrets Manager, Certificate Manager
- API & Integration: API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS
- Storage & Databases: S3, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, RDS
- Experience designing serverless-first and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with identity federation and SSO (SAML, OAuth2, JWT).
- Experience with multi-region and high-availability designs.
- Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and zero-trust principles.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
