About the role

Design, develop, and optimize back-end services, APIs, and systems that power GoDaddy’s applications
Work with distributed systems and microservices to create scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, front-end engineers, and data teams, to deliver end-to-end solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to best practices in software development
Investigate and resolve software-related issues, optimize performance, and deliver exceptional user experiences
Advocate for new technologies that boost productivity and efficiency, keeping our tech stack modern and effective
Contribute to architecture and design discussions, influencing the technical direction of our platforms
Actively participate in discussions, brainstorm ideas, and propose solutions, shaping the direction of our shared services

6+ years of experience in software engineering with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and developing large-scale distributed applications
Proven leadership background with experience as a team lead and strong interest in managerial growth
Skilled in designing and implementing RESTful APIs with a solid understanding of microservice architecture
2+ years of cloud experience, preferably with AWS, along with knowledge of containers and cloud-native development
Strong foundation in data structures, software design, relational and NoSQL databases, as well as scalability, performance tuning, and caching strategies
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
Management experience isn’t required but is a strong plus; ready to step into a leadership role within 6 months
