Provide training, coaching and technical support to direct services staff who provide case management, counseling and foster home certification and support.
Utilize Collaborative Problem Solving as a strengths-based, neurobiological-grounded approach to support children in care.
Provide training support to direct services staff who are providing strengths-based individual counseling and skill building to children in care a minimum of once weekly.
Providing training and support for direct services staff who are conducting ongoing case management and respectfully engage with youth, family, treatment teams, community partners, and other GOBHI Staff to support the goals of the child and family team.
Complete and coach and support staff with documentation within timelines and maintain compliance with Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR).
Support program managers with onboarding of incoming direct services staff by providing orientation, training and mentoring for incoming staff.
Provide training on policy, procedures, job duties and technical skill training.
Support program managers with reviewing documentation of direct services staff, conducting case reviews, and providing operational supports.
Travel daily to provide in person support with direct services staff in their assigned region.
Use of personal vehicle to transport youth in care.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, with major study in social work, psychology, sociology, or a closely allied field and at least two years’ experience in the care and treatment of children and youth; or Master’s degree, with major study in social work or closely allied field and one year of experience in the care and treatment of children and youth.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Flexible; able to multi-task in response to time-sensitive and changing situations.
Possesses and applies knowledge of trauma-informed principles; effective behavior interventions for children and adolescents; Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS); group dynamics and effective communication approaches with groups; best practices for adult learning; social work best practices related to child welfare; theory and practice related to mental health, child development, trauma, attachment, family functioning, strength-based family-centered practice, working with ODHS families, children, youth, and caregivers, and current practice in the field, as well as current statewide policy.
Effective in inspiring and motivating others to perform well; effectively influences actions and opinions of others, accepts feedback from others and gives appropriate feedback and recognition to others.
Strong planning and organizational skills and follow through.
Knowledge of conflict resolution and crisis intervention techniques.
Skill in interviewing to gather information needed to assess needs of children and families.
Skill in providing feedback, developing coaching support and implementing coaching with direct service staff.
Skill in developing and leading both group and individual training covering a wide range of learning needs and styles.
Maintain a good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
