About the role
- Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of Go1’s tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations
- Identify and address tax issues across multiple jurisdictions (including Australia and the United States), implementing tax strategies to minimize liabilities
- Manage tax audits and prepare all required documentation promptly
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax consultants and tax authorities
- Conduct deep research on tax issues and prepare clear, actionable guidance
- Analyze financial statements for tax implications and advise accordingly
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting
- Monitor tax calendars to ensure all filings are submitted on time
- Recommend tax-efficient business practices and identify potential savings opportunities
- Provide timely advice on matters such as withholding tax, sales tax, R&D credits, and relevant contract language
- Report to the Head of Tax and Treasury and support the business with updates to policies and strategy
- Work closely with the Accounting team to identify process improvements and potential areas of risk
- Monitor changes in tax legislation affecting Go1’s operations across multiple jurisdictions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 6+ years’ experience as a Tax Manager or in a senior role within a Big Four public accounting firm
- Strong experience with international tax and transfer pricing
- Advanced analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of US federal, state and local tax laws
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and experience using an ERP (preferably) NetSuite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a remote-first environment
- Curiosity and openness to incorporating AI into workflows to enhance efficiency
- Must be comfortable in a remote, global environment where non-traditional hours are the norm
