About the role
- Own end-to-end preparation of board materials, including structuring the narrative, coordinating inputs across functions, and ensuring materials are polished and delivered on time
- Serve as the connective tissue between the CEO and board — tracking action items, managing follow-ups, and maintaining the cadence of board communications between meetings
- Prepare executive briefings, investor updates, and other high-stakes external communications as needed
- Lead planning and execution of company-wide town halls, all-hands meetings, and leadership communications
- Partner with the CEO and senior leadership to develop messaging that clearly connects organizational strategy to employee priorities
- Build and maintain a communications calendar that keeps the organization informed and aligned through periods of change and growth
- Step in as the lead driver on cross-functional strategic initiatives that require dedicated bandwidth — from scoping to execution to close
- Identify when projects are off-track and proactively surface issues, options, and recommendations to the CEO
- Bring structure and accountability to initiatives that cut across functions without a natural single owner
- Own the design and execution of key leadership rhythms — staff meetings, offsites, quarterly planning — ensuring they are purposeful and well-run
- Prepare the CEO for key meetings with pre-reads, talking points, and relevant context
- Track strategic priorities and ensure appropriate follow-through across the leadership team
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, or a similar role — with meaningful time spent inside an operating company
- Demonstrated experience preparing board-level materials or supporting executive communications in a fast-paced environment
- Track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects without direct authority
- Experience in a PE-backed, investor-facing, or similarly governance-intensive environment is a plus
- Exceptional written communication — you can take complex, ambiguous information and turn it into a clear, compelling narrative
- Strong project management instincts — you create structure in ambiguous situations and follow through without being chased
- Executive presence and sound judgment — you know what to escalate, what to handle, and how to read a room
- High integrity and discretion — you will be trusted with sensitive information and relationships
- Bias toward action — you move things forward and don't wait for perfect information
- Comfortable operating in a lean organization where ownership is broad and the work is varied
Benefits
- Direct access and visibility to the CEO and board — you will be in the room for consequential decisions
- A lean organization where your impact is visible and your ownership is real
- A platform to grow into broader operational or functional leadership over time
- A role that combines intellectual challenge with tangible execution — no two weeks look the same
- Competitive salary
