About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with management to analyze and forecast staffing needs, locales, and recruiting strategies
  • Consult with managers on offers, active recruitment searches, and local employment market conditions
  • Source active and passive job seekers through the Internet, referrals, job fairs, cold calls, social media, and networking outlets
  • Pre-screen candidates to assess qualifications and experience levels
  • Conduct and schedule candidate interviews with hiring managers
  • Initiate hiring processes, including contingent verbal offers, drug screens, and background checks
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members
  • Assist team members with open positions, interviews, and managers’ calls in their absence
  • Participate in and develop special projects to improve Recruiting department functions
  • Recommend process improvements
  • Report on position status, hires, sources, and time to fill
  • Execute employment advertising, coordinate with hiring managers on departmental needs, source and screen candidates, schedule and perform interviews, conduct reference checks, extend and negotiate offers, and coordinate new employee startups, reports, and analysis
  • Focus primarily on exempt and officer-level positions while assisting with all recruitment needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–7 years of experience as a recruiter required
  • Strong background or training in high-volume recruiting preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, and master’s degree listed, with bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Complete understanding of recruitment, pre-employment, and post-employment processes
  • Working knowledge of recruiting-related statutory regulations, including anti-discrimination laws, pre-employment screenings, interview techniques and limitations, and special accommodations
  • Understanding of hiring managers’ recruitment-process expectations, job requirements, posting locations, salary structures, interview participants, and target fill dates
  • Understanding of GM Financial’s pre-employment process, policies, procedures, and benefits package
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with others and with individuals at all levels
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills for building and maintaining manager relationships
  • Ability to interpret job descriptions in relation to organizational salary structures
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese valuable
