About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create strategies and multimedia content that connect with customers, dealers and employees
  • Brainstorm ideas, collaborate with others, develop strategic concepts and craft meaningful, compelling messages that inspire and motivate audiences to take action
  • Write and edit content in a variety of channels, including: Websites, advertising, news releases, social media, employee communications, video scripts and executive messaging
  • Partner with various stakeholders to create, develop and execute multi-channel campaigns and communication programs that drive results
  • Own content planning, assist in production and host episodes of the financial literacy podcast, *Our Two Cents*
  • Help manage the site for the online financial literacy program, KEYS by GM Financial® and projects with Marketing
  • Develop new ideas to support and enhance the overall content strategy
  • Act as a communication liaison to departments throughout the company
  • Use strong organizational and project management skills while managing multiple priorities
  • Consistently manage deadlines and priorities for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Continually track, measure, evaluate and improve communication efforts that lead to enhanced team member experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge of strategic communications concepts, principles and theories
  • Must be comfortable working both independently and as a team
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of marketing theories as related to strategic communications campaigns that are built to drive the reader to take an action
  • Highly adaptable and quick to learn, with a proven ability to take ownership of unfamiliar tools and projects and make them successful
  • Experience developing, hosting and producing podcasts or other multimedia storytelling content is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related communications or marketing role required
  • Bachelor’s Degree ​in related field or equivalent professional work experience, in journalism, mass communications, public relations or related discipline required
