Communication Specialist
GM FinancialCommunication Specialist at GM Financial creating multi-channel content for customers, dealers, and employees. Collaborates with teams to strengthen brand messaging and inspire action.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the planning and delivery of corporate events, including live events, leadership meetings, cultural events and community engagement activities.
- Support event logistics such as venue coordination, scheduling, vendor communication, catering, equipment setup and production needs.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to bring innovative, creative ideas to employee engagement experiences.
- Provide on-site and virtual event support, including setup, check-in and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with creative, brand, and video production teams to deliver engaging, visually aligned content.
- Coordinate event recaps and post-event communications, including surveys, analytics and lessons learned.
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to support consistent communication and event execution.
- Act as a communication liaison to departments throughout the company
Requirements

- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work effectively across teams.
- Knowledge of event planning, production, or marketing best practices.
- Ability to anticipate needs, adapt quickly, and execute with precision in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and creating memorable employee experiences.
- Strong project management skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter and team player able to work seamlessly with team members, executives, vendors and customers
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Interpersonal skills to relate with staff at all levels throughout the company to stay aware of potentially newsworthy developments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent professional work experience, in journalism, mass communications, public relations or related discipline required.
- 1-3 years of experience in an advertising/marketing agency or a corporate communications/marketing role, including internships required
