About the role
- Lead the governance, oversight, and strategic management of vendor partnerships supporting General Motors Insurance
- Ensure regulatory, contractual, and policy compliance while building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Develop team capabilities, oversee vendor risk and performance
- Identify solutions that enhance customer and employee experiences in alignment with GM Insurance strategy
- Proactively identify and recommend vendor solutions and technologies to leadership that further enhance the customer or employee experience in line with General Motors strategies and goals
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating and directing the work of direct reports
- Develop goals and objectives for direct reports that align with General Motors Insurance key results
- Maintain relationships with vendors to gather information needed for due diligence, risk assessments, and any other ongoing monitoring required
- Work with vendor and internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing vendor monitoring activities are documented in accordance with company policy and procedures
- Perform reviews and analysis of executed vendor agreements to ensure service level compliance and other contractual commitments are satisfied
- Ensure the team resolves vendor disputes or issues quickly and efficiently
Requirements
- 4+ years of Insurance or financial services industry experience required
- 2+ years of experience in a Vendor Management department or functionally related area handling vendor partnerships required
- 4+ years of experience in claims, preferably auto claims preferred
- 3+ years of claims leadership experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred
- Must be familiar with vendor management and relationship concepts, practices, and procedures
- Ownership mentality with a deep sense of accountability over results
- Ability to perform comprehensive analysis on costs and benefits of project proposals and outsourcing activities
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to lead and delegate appropriately
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of an organization (verbal and written) on a regular basis
- Proven analytical skills and strategic thinking
- Excellent organizational skills a must
- Must be skilled and highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
