About the role

  • At GM Financial, Technical Principals are both hands-on development and key influencers that help shape the architectural future of our solutions.
  • The principal will work with leaders in the business segment to identify initiatives with high impact which drive the business strategy forward.
  • The person in this role will be creative, innovative and an avid promoter of process improvement in Salesforce using the appropriate methodologies to enhance productivity and performance of assigned business area.
  • The Principal will be a key influencer and lead development engineer in rebuilding the platform.
  • The Principal will work with leaders in the business and technology to shape the overall platform and execution strategy.
  • The person in this role is also expected to be an experienced innovative leader and influencer within the Salesforce ecosystem (and beyond).
  • Nurture a strong internal network by working across the business unit to foster a culture of trust, engagement and integrity
  • Drive technical thought-leadership, acting as a change agent and advocate for new methodologies that enable higher levels of business agility and operational excellence.
  • Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members.

Requirements

  • prior experience as a full stack developer in C#, Java, or other languages preferred
  • Demonstratable hands-on development and architecture on the Salesforce platform.
  • Experience with 2 or more complete implementations on salesforce along with experience working in established orgs preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Salesforce integration patterns including but not limited to API’s, events, integrations, asynchronous and batch processes, etc preferred.
  • Expert level experience with custom Salesforce development including LWC’s, Apex, JavaScript, Restful webservices, platform events, etc preferred.
  • Experience with leading cross-functional and/or global initiatives from start to finish
  • Advanced knowledge of business acumen and a deep understanding of business implications of decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices preferred.
  • Ability to provide leadership through mentorship, influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork
  • Related certifications and/or licenses required
  • Member of and recommendation by accredited association in related field preferred
  • Greater than 10 years in related function required
  • 3-5 years leading through mentorship in related field required
  • 3-5 years leading projects and initiatives through influence required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or High School Equivalent plus 2 additional years of related experience required
