About the role

  • At GM Financial, Senior Principal Engineers are both visionary leaders and hands on builders.
  • Principal Engineers work on our hardest problems, help establish technical standards and drive the overall technical architecture, engineering practices, and engineering methodologies for products that delight our customers.
  • We are reimagining Employee customer experience in Dealer Originations and rebuilding the platform from grounds up on Salesforce.
  • As a technical leader and subject matter expert, the Senior Principal will be a key influencer in rebuilding the platform.
  • The Senior Principal will work with leaders in the business and technology to Shape up the overall platform and execution strategy.
  • The person in this role is also expected to be an innovative leader and influencer, acting as an avid promoter of product and technology improvements to enhance productivity and performance of the product.
  • This person represents GM Financial in the broader community and serve as a de-facto ambassador for the organization.
  • It is important for the Senior Principal engineer to follow the industry trends closely and adopt new technologies that provide business value.

Requirements

  • Demonstratable hands-on development and architecture on the Salesforce platform.
  • Experience rolling out at least 5 implementations on salesforce
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with Salesforce integration patterns including but not limited to API’s, events, integrations, asynchronous and batch processes, etc.
  • Expert level experience with custom Salesforce development including LWC’s, Apex, JavaScript, Restful webservices, platform events, etc.
  • Experience with leading cross-functional and/or global initiatives from start to finish
  • Advanced knowledge of business acumen and a deep understanding of business implications of decisions across cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth understanding of company values, mission, vision and strategic direction
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GM Financial’s business operations or strong experience in FinTech (specifically within loan originations).
  • Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.
  • Proven skills in providing leadership through mentorship, influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong ability to map long-term vision for the business unit and generate innovative ideas that create value
  • Ability to maintain and grow strong working relationships and build trust with peers, cross-functional partners.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience required
  • 12 years minimum experience in related functions
  • 5-7 years experience leading through mentorship in a related field
  • Relevant certifications or licenses preferred
  • 5-7 years experience driving thought leadership and innovation across products
