About the role

  • The Lead Dimensional Engineer is responsible for the Glydcar vehicle overall and detailed dimensional strategy and ensuring that our vehicle assembly is both manufacturable and repairable in the field from a variability standpoint.
  • Setting the fit and finish targets and strategy in conjunction with ID and engineering teams
  • Ensure ease of assembly of all components to the vehicle in a production setting
  • Trouble shoot any dimensional issues in the vehicle design and builds and help with supplier dimensional issues
  • Will review and recommend assembly of Body, Exterior, Interior process and recommend ways to control variation and improve processes
  • Dimensional studies and the capability to perform them and recommend/purchase software to do them as well and will work with a small team of dimensional engineers internal or external to the company to achieve this

Requirements

  • Requires GD&T expertise
  • Practical knowledge of a wide variety of vehicle components and how to reasonably tolerance them to achieve a good vehicle design and build
  • This role can be remote but may require some travel to builds onsite as necessary or visit to suppliers as needed.
