About the role
- Join a cross functional vehicle platform team with the mission of developing a new light electric vehicle for Glydways rapid transit system
- Verify the proper operation of various components of the new vehicle platform
- Interact with suppliers on sourcing components which meet technical requirements for the vehicle
- Design and implement verification tests including part procurement, harness design/fabrication, test script creation/execution, test execution using internal and external resources, report processing, and working with engineering to improve product performance
- Scope may include working with chassis electronics, power electronics, battery pack (modules/inverter/high voltage circuits), powertrain (electric motor, transmission, etc), braking systems, wiring harness specification and routing, safety equipment layout, fault tolerant circuit and system design, HVAC, custom modules, etc
Requirements
- Prior design work and knowledge in an automotive, automotive startup, or similar setting in at least one of the following: Chassis electronics and actuators, Electrical, powertrain, Wiring harness, Displays, Sensors, Body electronics, Safety critical design, etc
- Validation testing for EMI/EMC at the vehicle level down to subcomponents
- Familiarity with relevant automotive test specifications such as ISO16750
- Vehicle control communications protocols (CAN, Ethernet, etc) and associated diagnostics
- Fundamental engineering mindset
- Understanding of PCBA schematic and layout
- Ability to work in areas of engineering you are unfamiliar with and learn as you go
