About the role

  • Identify opportunities to reduce fraud losses on different streams and improve overall profitability, leveraging existing Fintech levers like advanced risk rules and Machine Learning.
  • Support and implement end-to-end fraud prevention strategies—design controls, execute rollouts, measure impact, and iterate for continuous improvement.
  • Design and launch A/B tests to evaluate and optimize new fraud prevention controls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders like Product, Engineering, Data Science to propose innovative and preventive fraud controls.
  • Perform advanced risk analyses using SQL, Python and analytics platforms (e.g., Amplitude, Looker, BigQuery) to identify emerging fraud patterns and monitor key metrics.
  • Contribute to machine learning workflows by partnering with Data Science: define relevant features, validate model outputs, and flag performance drift.
  • Maintain and optimize a centralized escalation process for suspected fraud, ensuring timely reviews, feedback loops, and alignment with local teams to adapt risk controls regionally.
  • Develop and maintain executive dashboards (Looker/Tableau) to track fraud OKRs, financial exposure, and compliance metrics; prepare regular updates for senior leadership.
  • Drive clarity and resolve ambiguity on complex fraud topics, using data-driven approaches, simplifying concepts for different audiences (local ops, senior leadership, or external partners).
  • Liaise with external vendors (fraud detection providers, payment gateways, acquirers, card schemes) to evaluate performance and ensure effective integration of third-party solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or analytics within a leading fintech, e-commerce, payments, or marketplace environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Good stakeholder-management skills, and experience leading projects.
  • Experience leading analyses and turning insights into actions.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python
  • Fundamental understanding of ML and base statistics.
  • Experience designing and launching A/B tests
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
  • Proficiency in English.
