About the role

  • As a Specialist, you are responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and optimisation of ALDI’s freight procurement
  • Your tasks include performing research, preparing and managing tenders, and following up on contract negotiations
  • You are involved in conducting market analyses to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
  • Collaborating with international suppliers and all ALDI SOUTH countries worldwide is part of your role
  • You maintain and control records according to deadlines, ensuring that information in all systems is updated and accurate at all times
  • You act as contact person for developing existing and building new supplier relationships
  • Additionally, you investigate and document existing business processes and propose overarching strategies
  • Drafting and editing contracts and presentation documents also belong to your responsibilities

Requirements

  • You have several years of professional experience in procurement, ideally within freight, logistics, or supply chain management
  • You have completed a university degree or commercial training
  • You bring experience in tendering and contracting processes, including working with Transporeon, SAP Transportation Management, and SAP Ariba, as well as collaborating with external suppliers and consultants
  • Understanding freight cost structures, logistics networks, and sustainability initiatives within supply chain management is part of your expertise
  • You feel comfortable working independently and taking accountability for your results
  • You are confident using MS Office
  • Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of German is particularly advantageous
  • Attention to detail and a structured mindset is a matter of course for you
