About the role
- As a (Senior) Legal Counsel in the Labor Law Team, you will provide legal advice on all labor law matters for ALDI SÜD HOLDING.
- With a strong knowledge of Austrian or German labor law, you will tailor your advice to operational needs on day-to-day matters as well as to the strategic considerations of a leading multinational discount retailer.
- You will lead all collective labor law matters, including managing relations with the works council and negotiating works council agreements.
- You will review and draft labor-law-related policies, templates, agreements, and other relevant documentation.
- You will prepare court cases, conduct out-of-court negotiations (e.g. with the Chamber of Labour), and represent the company in litigation before the courts.
- You will advise on and lead international labor law projects across the ALDI SÜD Group.
- You will conduct internal labor law training sessions.
- Where required, you will manage external legal counsel.
Requirements
- You have completed a law degree from an Austrian or German university; admission to the Austrian or German bar and an additional international Master of Laws (LL.M.) are a plus.
- You have at least 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or in-house, with a proven track record advising multinational companies.
- You are passionate about labor law and eager to engage at all levels to advance the topic.
- You have excellent communication skills and are business fluent in English and German.
- You possess an international mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to tailor your advice to all employee and management levels.
- You work independently with a hands-on, proactive approach and a high level of self-motivation.
- You take a strategic perspective and can see the bigger picture.
- You can prioritise workload effectively and drive deadline-driven tasks to completion.
