About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of machine learning and AI solutions
Conduct applied research and develop analytical approaches to solve complex mission challenges
Design and execute studies using large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
Develop statistical models, predictive analytics solutions, and advanced analytical methodologies
Advise program leadership on technical strategies, emerging technologies, and analytical best practices
Deliver analytical findings through reports, visualizations, dashboards, and executive briefings
Lead model validation, quality assurance, and technical review activities
Mentor data scientists and analysts while providing technical leadership across project teams
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify mission gaps and data-driven solutions
Support strategic planning and capability development initiatives
Participate in Agile development activities and cross-functional team collaboration

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative discipline
Ten (10) years of experience in applied research, big data analytics, statistics, data science, computer science, operations research, or related quantitative disciplines
Seven (7) years of direct machine learning experience
Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
Experience leading technical teams and advanced analytics initiatives
Experience working with large-scale datasets and complex analytical problems
Experience presenting technical findings to executive and stakeholder audiences
Expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, and data mining
Strong understanding of model validation and analytical evaluation techniques
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
