About the role
- Prospecting and running presentations both in person and over the phone to small and mid-sized merchants, restaurateurs, and businesses
- Close sales of Heartland/Global Payments business solutions within a fast sales cycle
- Explain value proposition and demonstrate the Payments Platform
- Upsell current clients on other Heartland products and services
- Maintain regular communication with the Core Payments District Manager and report to a District Manager
- Set appointments with business owners via network and referral partnerships
- Run scheduled appointments, uncover needs, and present Heartland Payments solutions to close sales
- During training, be accompanied by District Manager for on-the-job coaching
- Use CRM platforms (Atlas and Salesforce) for lead generation, sales presentations, client financial analysis, and paperless contract processing
- Maintain existing/prospective client records in CRM (call notes, scheduled interactions, contact info)
- Achieve minimum production requirements and quota, including setting first time appointments
- Attend weekly team meetings and weekly one-on-ones with leader
- Continuously build and develop knowledge of current product/service portfolio and industry developments
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid drivers license (regular driving to visit client sites required)
- Background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment
- Completion of mandatory drug screening on or near 60th day of employment
- Live in area relative to job posting location
- Ability to be in the field, a minimum of 75% of the time
- High school diploma/GED (Preferred)
- At least two years of relevant experience (Preferred)
- Excellent prospecting, communication, presentation, and networking skills
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Incentive-driven sales “hunter”
- Professional demeanor and impeccable integrity
- High sense of urgency and innate sales talent
- Enjoys cold-calling and speaking with people face to face
- Knowledge of Restaurant and/or Retail industry is a plus
- Experience with CRM platforms (Atlas and Salesforce)
