About the role

  • Prospecting and running presentations in person and over the phone to small and mid-sized merchants, restaurateurs, and businesses to close deals within a fast sales cycle
  • Explain the company's value proposition and demonstrate the Payments Platform
  • Upsell current clients on other Heartland products and services
  • Maintain regular communication with the Core Payments District Manager; report to District Manager and receive coaching from a Director
  • Set appointments with business owners via networks and referral partnerships and run scheduled appointments to uncover needs and close sales
  • During training, District Manager will accompany initial appointments to train on short-cycle sales process using CRM platforms Atlas and Salesforce
  • Use CRM (Atlas) and Salesforce for lead generation, sales presentations, on-the-spot client financial analysis and paperless contract processing
  • Maintain existing/prospective client records including call notes, scheduled client interactions, contact information, and other relevant client information
  • Responsible for achieving minimum production requirements and quota, including setting first time appointments
  • Continuously build and develop knowledge of current product/service portfolio and industry developments
  • Attend weekly team meetings and weekly one-on-ones with leader

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid drivers license (regular driving to visit client sites required)
  • In accordance with state law, a background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment
  • Completion of mandatory drug screening on or near 60th day of employment
  • Live in area relative to job posting location
  • Ability to be in the field, a minimum of 75% of the time
  • Excellent prospecting, communication, presentation, and networking skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team

  • Professional demeanor and impeccable integrity
  • High sense of urgency and innate sales talent
  • Enjoys cold-calling and speaking with people face to face
  • Knowledge of Restaurant and/or Retail industry is a plus
  • Preferred: High school diploma/GED
  • Preferred: At least two years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms Atlas and Salesforce
