Prospecting and running presentations in person and over the phone to small and mid-sized merchants, restaurateurs, and businesses to close deals
Report to a District Manager and receive coaching from a Director
Explain value proposition and demonstrate the Payments Platform
Upsell current clients on other Heartland products and services
Maintain regular communication with the Core Payments District Manager
Work with local District Manager to set appointments via network and referral partnerships
Run scheduled appointments, uncover needs, present Heartland Payments solutions, and close sales
District Manager will accompany initial appointments during training to teach short-cycle sales process
Use CRM platforms (Atlas and Salesforce) for lead generation, sales presentations, on-the-spot client financial analysis and paperless contract processing
Maintain existing/prospective client records in CRM (call notes, scheduled interactions, contact information)
Achieve minimum production requirements and secure quota by setting first-time appointments
Attend weekly team meetings and weekly one-on-one with leader
Continuously build and develop knowledge of product/service portfolio and industry developments
Requirements
18 years of age or older
Valid drivers license (this position requires regular driving to visit client sites)
In accordance with state law, a background check will be conducted after a conditional offer of employment
Completion of mandatory drug screening on or near 60th day of employment
Live in area relative to job posting location
Ability to be in the field, a minimum of 75% of the time
Excellent prospecting, communication, presentation, and networking skills
Works well independently and as part of a team

High sense of urgency and innate sales talent
Enjoys cold-calling and speaking with people face to face
Knowledge of Restaurant and/or Retail industry is a plus
Preferred: High school diploma/GED
