About the role

  • Prospect and run presentations in person and over the phone to small and mid-sized merchants, restaurateurs, and businesses to close deals
  • Explain value proposition and demonstrate Payments Platform
  • Upsell current clients on other Heartland products and services
  • Maintain regular communication with Core Payments District Manager and report to District Manager
  • Work with District Manager to set appointments using network and referral partnerships
  • Run scheduled appointments to uncover needs and present Heartland Payments solutions
  • Use CRM platforms Atlas and Salesforce for lead generation, sales presentations, client financial analysis, and paperless contract processing
  • Maintain client records in CRM including call notes, scheduled interactions, and contact information
  • Achieve minimum production requirements and quota; set first-time appointments
  • Attend weekly team meetings and one-on-ones with leader
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • valid driver's license and regular driving to visit client sites
  • background check after conditional offer
  • mandatory drug screening on or near 60th day of employment
  • Live in area relative to job posting location
  • Ability to be in the field, a minimum of 75% of the time
  • Excellent prospecting, communication, presentation, and networking skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Incentive-driven sales “hunter”
  • Professional demeanor and impeccable integrity
  • High sense of urgency and innate sales talent
  • Enjoys cold-calling and speaking with people face to face
  • Knowledge of Restaurant and/or Retail industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Atlas and Salesforce)
  • Preferred: High school diploma/GED
  • Preferred: At least two years of relevant experience
