About the role
- Provide real-time Kyrgyz ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
- Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration and legal contexts.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
- Handle both scheduled and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
- Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Requirements
- Native or near-native fluency in Kyrgyz and English.
- 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, legal, or government preferred).
- Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
- Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
