About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process and balance check transactions, check adjustments, balance shared branching transactions and process shared branching adjustments timely and accurately
  • Oversee daily operations of the Item Processing department in the absence of management
  • Complete relevant training to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, federal and state laws as well as any other applicable rules or regulations
  • Complete assigned tasks in accordance with procedures and established deadlines
  • Assist in the timely completion of special projects/tasks assigned
  • Assist with supervision of staff to ensure accurate completion of all department tasks by established deadlines
  • Ensure designated custodial accounts are reconciled and corrections are made promptly
  • Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports for the department
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures and workflows; ensure accurate and up to date documentation as changes occur
  • Assist with staff training and quality control
  • Provide input and support for process improvement, operational efficiencies and automation of department processes or implementation of new technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with members and employees
  • Familiarity with financial institution operations or payment processing is preferred
  • Ability to solve problems and work collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and demonstrate good judgment
  • Must be well organized and able to adapt to new processes, policies and procedures
