About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee daily production operations for the manufacturing department
  • Develop employees and drive safety, quality, and operational performance
  • Promote a behavior-based safety culture and zero-risk workplace
  • Drive continuous improvement using the GPS process and principles
  • Maintain high quality standards and SOP compliance
  • Participate in HACCP and food safety meetings
  • Act as Sanitation Supervisor and oversee housekeeping and sanitation SOPs
  • Develop the production budget and monitor budget variance
  • Control documents, labels, and packaging from reweighs through packaging
  • Minimize product loss and packaging material waste
  • Create and maintain employee motivation programs
  • Review production orders and schedules to plan department operations
  • Direct, coordinate, and evaluate manufacturing department functions
  • Manage supervisory and non-supervisory employees, including hiring, training, assigning work, performance appraisal, discipline, and complaint resolution
  • Establish production priorities and manufacturing sequences
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities to meet product specifications, production, and quality requirements
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems
  • Inspect machines and equipment for operational performance and utilization
  • Implement standard operating and working practices and monitor compliance
  • Provide after-hours response for plant outages and emergencies
  • Supervise manufacturing staff and assign production duties
  • Monitor labor hours versus production and approve weekly time cards
  • Maintain, store, and retrieve production records and reports
  • Coordinate onboarding and training for new manufacturing team members
  • Coach, discipline, evaluate, and resolve personnel grievances in coordination with Human Resources

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
  • Experience in food, nutrition, supplement, pharmaceutical, or related regulated manufacturing environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing production teams
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with HACCP, GMP, or sanitation programs preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Required shift: 6:30pm–3:30am, Monday–Friday
  • Regular attendance is an essential function
  • Ability to provide after-hours response during plant outages and emergencies
