About the role
- Managing daily operations in a food manufacturing facility
- Ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency
- Overseeing staffing, production, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Reviewing production orders or schedules to ascertain product data
- Planning production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
- Preparing operational schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities
- Reviewing production and operating reports and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems
- Inspecting machines and equipment
- Developing or revising standard operational and working practices
- Compiling, storing, and retrieving production data
- Resolving worker grievances or submitting to Senior Production Manager or Plant Manager
- Filling in on the floor to ensure production timelines and KPIs are achieved
- Complying with occupational safety and health standards and food safety regulations.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and food safety standards
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, GMP)
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement practices
