About the role

  • Development of backend services and technical components using TypeScript / Node.js
  • Work on production-oriented systems with PostgreSQL, APIs and service-oriented architectures
  • Containerization of applications using Docker
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and the automation of build and deployment processes
  • Deploy and operate your own services in Kubernetes environments
  • Develop and run software on various target systems: server and cloud environments, customer-proximate edge systems (e.g. Raspberry Pi), and local development setups on macOS
  • Work on AI-supported features and integrations: use and integration of AI APIs, building technical interfaces (e.g. agent-based concepts, MCP-like architectures), focus on integration and application rather than mandatory model training
  • Close collaboration with Product, Platform Engineering, Head of Engineering and Scrum Master

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in backend software development
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
  • Confident use of Linux as a development and runtime environment
  • Excellent understanding of Docker and containerized applications
  • Experience with Kubernetes in terms of deploying and operating own workloads
  • Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
  • Practical experience with CI/CD, preferably GitLab
  • Strong automation and operational mindset ('You build it, you run it' – within the team)
  • Experience or interest in hosting and cloud environments (e.g. Hetzner), AI-supported applications and their technical integration
  • Structured working style, technical ambition and a genuine desire to understand how things work
  • Very good German language skills.
