About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the fullstack Switchboard team responsible for GitLab Dedicated’s customer-facing control panel, and set clear direction for how the team delivers and evolves that product. There is a strong coordination with the assigned Product Manager.
- Hire and develop a high-performing team where team members can thrive and produce results with quality and speed.
- Partner with Technical Team Leads to provide direction and act as final decision-maker and unblocker of the team to move forward fast.
- Partner closely with Product and Design on the customer-facing control panel, including wireframes and UI direction for external users.
- Own planning with the Product Manager, including priorities, dependencies, and the quarterly delivery epic.
- Ensure fast, high quality and cross-functional execution across frontend, backend, UX, product, and technical writing.
- Drive improvements in quality, security, and performance.
- Support the team’s mission of enabling GitLab Dedicated customers to manage their tenant environments while reducing manual operations on the large scale Dedicated fleet.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven track record building and owning large-scale distributed services, with the technical depth to dive into architecture and guide the team on technical strategy
- Experience in driving operational excellence and you've owned services running at four-nines (99.99%) SLOs and know what it takes to keep them there
- Experience leveraging AI tooling to boost team productivity, with real lessons learned from both wins and missteps
- A history of building and managing high-performing, accountable team cultures, including managing out when necessary
- Comfort driving complex projects to completion without relying on a dedicated TPM
- Experience leading distributed and remote teams effectively
