Kitchen Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the daily operations of the camp kitchen
- Plan weekly menus that meet nutritional needs, allergies, and dietary restrictions
- Manage kitchen inventory and place weekly food orders
- Lead and support kitchen staff in daily meal preparation (3 meals/day + Snacks)
- Ensure staff have access to meals during time off and staff-only dining
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and food storage environment
- Adapt quickly to changing needs and schedules
- Adjust menus for theme days and other special events while keeping with camp traditions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience planning meals for groups of children and adults
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices
- Ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergens
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Able to lift 30-50 lb and stand for extended periods of time
- Be able to pass a background check
- Comfortable working in a rustic camp setting
- Able to be flexible and adapt to changes
- First Aid/CPR Certification (or ability to obtain before camp)
- Must be 18+ years old by the start date of camp.
