About the role
- Partner with subject matter experts from newly acquired businesses to understand source systems and data structures (primarily SQL Server)
- Conduct data discovery and analysis to understand how source data maps to existing KPI frameworks and reporting standards
- Design and implement dimensional data models using fact and dimension structures to support scalable reporting
- Develop complex Power BI datasets and reports, including advanced DAX measures and calculated tables
- Collaborate with data engineers to support data ingestion and transformation pipelines
- Translate business reporting requirements into robust, maintainable Power BI models
- Build standardised reporting outputs for each acquired company (typically ~4 reports per integration)
- Work closely with stakeholders to test, validate, and refine reports to ensure they meet business needs
- Support multiple integration workstreams as the acquisition programme progresses
Requirements
- Strong experience developing complex Power BI solutions
- Advanced DAX proficiency for building measures, calculated tables, and performance-optimised models
- Strong SQL skills, including complex querying beyond basic joins
- Proven experience designing dimensional data models (facts, dimensions, star schemas)
- Ability to analyse unfamiliar datasets and map them to structured KPI frameworks
- Comfortable working across both technical and business domains
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills for data discovery and requirements clarification
