About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop mechanical system models in Revit from engineering markups, sketches, and design criteria, including ductwork, hydronic piping, and mechanical equipment layouts
Size ductwork and piping based on airflow, velocity, pressure drop, and equipment requirements
Produce mechanical plans, sections, details, and schedules from coordinated BIM models
Coordinate mechanical systems with structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and controls disciplines
Run and participate in Navisworks clash detection, investigate root causes, and drive resolutions
Track coordination issues through closure and incorporate resolved changes into the model
Maintain model accuracy, organization, and compliance with BIM standards
Support construction and field teams by resolving mechanical routing and coordination questions and incorporating field conditions into the model
Perform quality-control reviews of mechanical models and drawings

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience developing mechanical systems in Autodesk Revit
Strong experience modeling HVAC ductwork, hydronic piping systems, and mechanical equipment layouts
Working knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, airflow, velocity, and pressure-drop criteria
Ability to independently develop complete mechanical layouts from engineering markups
Experience coordinating mechanical systems across architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines
Experience identifying and resolving BIM clashes
Strong attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills
