About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop mechanical system models in Revit from engineering markups, sketches, and design criteria, including ductwork, hydronic piping, and mechanical equipment layouts
  • Size ductwork and piping based on airflow, velocity, pressure drop, and equipment requirements
  • Produce mechanical plans, sections, details, and schedules from coordinated BIM models
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with structural, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and controls disciplines
  • Run and participate in Navisworks clash detection, investigate root causes, and drive resolutions
  • Track coordination issues through closure and incorporate resolved changes into the model
  • Maintain model accuracy, organization, and compliance with BIM standards
  • Support construction and field teams by resolving mechanical routing and coordination questions and incorporating field conditions into the model
  • Perform quality-control reviews of mechanical models and drawings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing mechanical systems in Autodesk Revit
  • Strong experience modeling HVAC ductwork, hydronic piping systems, and mechanical equipment layouts
  • Working knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, airflow, velocity, and pressure-drop criteria
  • Ability to independently develop complete mechanical layouts from engineering markups
  • Experience coordinating mechanical systems across architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines
  • Experience identifying and resolving BIM clashes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
