About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the company-wide owner of the UL relationship, acting as the primary liaison between Giga Energy and UL across all product lines and business units
Maintain existing UL certifications for oil-filled transformers and low-voltage switchgear, ensuring continued compliance, timely renewals, and smooth audit processes
Lead the end-to-end certification process for new product lines — scoping applicable standards, opening cases, preparing documentation, coordinating testing, managing timelines, and driving projects through to listing
Develop and maintain internal processes and playbooks for UL certification so the company can scale its product portfolio without bottlenecks
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations to ensure designs meet UL requirements early in the development cycle, not after the fact
Track and communicate changes to UL standards, policies, and procedures that may affect current or planned certifications
Manage UL-related budgets, timelines, and reporting to leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing UL certification cases, factory inspections, follow-up services, and the UL listing process
Deep familiarity with UL standards relevant to electrical infrastructure, including UL 1562, UL 891, and UL 1558
Demonstrated track record of successfully leading new products through the UL certification process from initial application through final listing
Existing professional relationships with UL representatives and working knowledge of how the organization operates internally
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent certification efforts across different product categories
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
