About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Address all new inbound calls/electronic referrals to Gift of Life.
  • Communicate with donor hospitals, organ teams, funeral homes, medical examiners, and other stakeholders to evaluate, investigate, and advance donor opportunities.
  • Evaluate tissue processor defined donor eligibility through the investigation of medical records and other appropriate sources.
  • Review relevant donor registries to confirm registry status.
  • Complete accurate documentation in the Gift of Life EMR.
  • Ability to handle stressful, fast paced, and sensitive work involving mechanism of death with a high level of compassion and composure.
  • Pre-screening with Processors when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in a health discipline, related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Medical Scribe, Medical/Nursing Assistant, First Responder, ME Investigator (MEI) or related field.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Teams and other technology systems used in business operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient active listening skills.
  • Ability to read and understand medical terminology.
  • Possess the capability to work in a team and independently (virtually and in person)
