About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in a team environment on special projects
- Learn about legislative requirements, mostly Ontario, with most provinces included
- Assist stores with implementing occupational health and safety programs
- Build and compile occupational health and safety program content across the business
- Work directly with more than 120 Giant Tiger stores across Ontario
- Help Store Owner/Managers navigate the Health & Safety Store Excellence Program from application through completion
- Process and track applications
- Maintain information in the internal portal
- Provide responsive support to stores throughout the process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Health and Safety or Human Resource program
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Desire to conduct clerical and administrative tasks
- Patience when performing repetitive tasks, ensuring consistent quality
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety
- Legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain authorization for the duration of employment
- Giant Tiger does not sponsor work permits
