About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Processing release of shipments for highway, rail, and ocean shipment electronically
- Process, assemble and present paper release packages to Canada Border Services Agency
- Engage customers and carriers by phone
- Understand and work with the Document Management System
- Managing the teams Outlook email
- Processing shipment information from Outlook to the GHY operating system
- Draft and send emails to client and carriers for missing information and instructions
- Arrange delivery of goods with freight forwarders and carriers
- Arrange payment of charges pertaining to shipments
- Present corrections to Canada Border Service Agency (RMD Corrections)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to read and understand Customs documents
- Knowledge of rating goods would be considered an asset
- Strong organization skills, able to prioritize work while keeping strict deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Attention to detail, able to handle large volumes of work accurately
- Strong problem-solving ability, comfortable to work independently
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform daily job functions in mature and professional manner
- Experience with ITMR4 would be an asset
- Completion of Grade 12 Education
- Working towards completion of the Intro to Customs Course
- Working towards CCS completion
- Previous experience in a Customs Brokerage or as part of a Logistics team
