About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances
  • Review, maintain, and administer lease agreements in accordance with ASC 842
  • Assist with lease accounting activities, including lease modifications, renewals, and related accounting entries
  • Review landlord invoices, CAM reconciliations, and resolve landlord/tenant billing discrepancies
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly coded and reconciled
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Participate in financial reporting, audit support, and SOX compliance activities
  • Analyze accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and other internal stakeholders
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and special analyses as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) preferred
  • Experience reviewing lease agreements, lease administration, or property accounting is highly desirable
  • Experience with CAM reconciliations, landlord invoices, or tenant billing is a plus
  • Strong general ledger, journal entry, and balance sheet reconciliation experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required
  • Lease accounting software experience
  • Property accounting or multi-location business experience
  • Experience supporting acquisitions or rapidly growing organizations
  • ERP system experience (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus)
