Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and manage the month-end close process.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain internal controls.
Lead and develop a small accounting team; supervise, coach, and foster a collaborative culture.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports (profitability analysis, cost accounting summaries, budget-to-actual reports).
Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis during month-end close.
Partner with operations to monitor and analyze production costs, labor efficiency, and material variances.
Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, reconciliations, and standard costing; coordinate annual cost roll-ups.
Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance; document accounting policies and procedures.
Collaborate with plant managers, procurement, supply chain, and sales to support operational decision-making; assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in manufacturing accounting, preferably in building products, construction materials, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
