About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial setting
- Provide services including hydro excavating, confined space entry, spill cleanup, line flushing, power washing, water hauling, and loading and hauling various fluids/material
- Follow company policies, procedures, and on-site requirements
- Provide exceptional service to clients and professionally represent GFL
- Complete daily equipment pre-trips and driver logs for NSC compliance
- Maintain detailed and accurate company documentation for work performed
- Support environmental compliance
- Participate in safety meetings, near miss reporting, and job hazard assessments
- Work independently while managing time and productivity
- Communicate effectively with clients and teams
- Perform minor maintenance on units to maintain efficient operation
- Accept after-hours calls when necessary
- Travel short-term and stay overnight when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid Commercial Driver's License
- 2 years of industrial vacuum truck and/or hydro-excavating experience, preferably with a combo unit
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Safety-focused attitude and experience working in an industrial setting
- Knowledge to perform minor maintenance on units
- Cleanliness and organizational skills
- Good health and physical condition to perform assigned duties
- Willingness to accept after-hours calls when necessary
- Some short-term travel and overnight stays may be required
- Valid safety tickets such as First Aid/CPR, Construction Safety Training (CSTS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and H2S Alive are considered an asset
- Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
