About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Sample inbound and onsite material, conduct screening analysis, and record results
- Complete required data entry
- De-pack loose packs, categorize, strap, and track outgoing material
- Interpret and compare results
- Operate a tank farm and associated pumps, valves, and couplings
- Blend and prepare products according to prescribed recipes using pumps and mixers
- Maintain organization in a fluid environment
- Communicate and liaise with other departments
- Perform housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
- Respond to emergencies and assist with spill clean-up
- Ensure work complies with safety standards and applicable codes
- Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and customers
- Work some overtime
- Perform other duties as requested by the Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Open availability Monday–Friday and ability to work morning and afternoon shifts
- Chemistry, Chemical Lab, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Technician, or related field of study
- Comfortable working 100% outdoors in cold and heat
- Clean shaven to wear a full-mask respirator
- Comfortable working at heights up to 10 feet
- Strong organizational skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Exemplary communication skills
- Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
