Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a related area of study
  • Pre-service Fire, Medical, or Police training
  • NFPA 472 Hazardous Material Operations
  • NFPA 1001 Level 1 or 2
  • Valid DZ license with a suitable driver's abstract and standard-transmission experience up to 18 speed
  • Availability for on-call emergency response work
  • Hazardous materials and/or environmental experience is an asset
  • Vacuum truck experience is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confined-space awareness
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Willingness to work at extreme heights and within confined spaces
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment and post-incident drug and alcohol testing
  • Professional, trustworthy, customer-focused approach
  • High motivation, service and team orientation, attention to detail, and accuracy
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
  • Bilingual English/French or other languages is an asset
  • Valid work authorization in Canada; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship
