About the role

  • Lead and participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
  • Act as a catalyst for growth by Mentoring & Coaching Quality Advanced Engineers.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with Customers on overall quality strategy.
  • Leverage strong knowledge of Customer requirements and specifications.
  • Mastermind the lifecycle of checking fixtures—from initial RFQs to successful buyoffs.
  • Clearly document and communicate Gestamp’s elite quality expectations to suppliers.
  • Drive quality improvements through documented quality loops.
  • Coordinate parts show events, driving timely PPAP completion.
  • Rapidly identify root causes of delays and expedite corrective actions.
  • Utilize Gestamp’s proprietary procedures and systems to manage project quality.
  • Participate in critical project audits and utilize advanced tools to measure quality metrics.
  • Champion a successful project launch through seamless handoff to plant.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Technical degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience, ideally thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Bi-lingual skills (Spanish/German) are a significant plus, but not required.
  • Mastery of GD&T, SPC, and quality tools including APQP, PPAP, IATF, and advanced Problem Solving.
  • Deep knowledge of IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000 is also a plus).
  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CSSBB, or CQMgr) is highly preferred and respected.
  • Demonstrated project management, facilitation, and hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
