About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and ensure compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations
- Interpret new and proposed regulations and assess potential impacts on business operations
- Prepare and present compliance reports to management
- Assist management in reviewing and developing compliance-related policies and procedures
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies for accuracy and completeness of compliance objectives
- Participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops to improve job knowledge
- Liaise with functional business units regarding new and existing regulations
- Determine emerging compliance risks through proactive analysis
- Analyze and report data as required by the Compliance Management Program
- Support management during examinations and internal audits
- Support management with external auditors, consultants, and other third parties on compliance activities
- Assist Learning and Development with oversight, assignment, and tracking of company-wide compliance training
- Update policies and procedures in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and process changes
- Stay informed about trends and developments in financial compliance
- Attend required meetings
- Conduct research and complete special projects or assignments
- Represent the Credit Union in contacts with business and trade associations and promote the Credit Union’s image
- Establish positive and productive working relationships aligned with the company’s purpose, mission, and core values
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years’ experience in financial institution regulatory compliance, including consumer and mortgage lending
- Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state financial regulations and emerging compliance issues
- Computer proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and Email
- Well organized and attentive to details
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and research skills with ability to problem solve and develop innovative solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Industry compliance certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment eligibility verified through E-Verify
