Lead Hardware Quality Engineer

Georgia State University Department of Health Sciences

Lead Hardware Quality Engineer focused on hardware quality for Vizzia's products. Ensuring standards throughout the development and deployment processes.

Posted 5/25/2026full-timeParis • 🇫🇷 FranceSeniorWebsite

About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and own the hardware quality plan
  • Build a complete quality plan covering all Vizzia hardware products, with clear deliverables for each hardware function
  • Set quality standards and acceptance criteria that everyone on the team can reference
  • Ensure the plan is shared, understood, and applied — not just a document that lives on a drive
  • Write, share and roll out quality processes across the full hardware development chain
  • Create the internal and external templates the team and suppliers will use day-to-day (test plans, audit forms, non-conformity reports, certification documentation)
  • Train and coach the hardware team to embed these processes into their work
  • Define test plans for every Vizzia hardware product
  • Ensure test plans are executed systematically before products reach production
  • Trace results so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Establish structured supplier quality control, starting with Altior and extending to other manufacturing partners
  • Lead audits, define corrective action plans and follow them through to closure
  • Travel to China approximately twice a year to audit suppliers and align on quality expectations on site
  • Ensure certification-related documentation (CE in particular) is complete, up-to-date and audit-ready at any time
  • Build traceability that allows reconstruction of the full history of any product version, any change, or any non-conformity
  • Improve field reliability over time — increase mean time to failure and reduce field returns

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in hardware quality engineering in industries where quality is critical
  • Experience in highly regulated industries (medical, defense, aerospace) and a clear understanding of rigorous quality discipline
  • Strong knowledge of CE standards and proven ability to take a product through certification without surprises
  • Experience auditing and working with manufacturing suppliers, ideally including suppliers in China, and comfortable with travel there
  • A combination of rigor and diplomacy: you can bring hardware teams on board without becoming the "quality police"
  • Patient and tenacious: quality is a long-term effort and you don’t give up when short-term pressures arise

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Hybrid work
  • Cadre employment contract and RTT (between 8 and 12 days per year depending on public holidays)
  • Choice of Mac or PC depending on your preference
  • Company covers 60% of meal vouchers (worth €9 per working day)
  • Sustainable mobility allowance
  • Health insurance (Alan)
  • Offices located in central Paris (9th arrondissement)
  • Annual offsite with the whole team and frequent company events
