About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement health promotion programming
- Manage the Health Education Services peer education program and related initiatives
- Co-lead implementation and administration of Georgetown’s mandatory bystander intervention program
- Administer online education courses for incoming undergraduate and graduate students
- Oversee the new Healy G Wellbeing Space
- Establish health programming and wellbeing initiatives on the Capitol Campus
- Coordinate and assess health promotion initiatives covering alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, mental health, and interpersonal violence
- Serve as liaison with university departments, campus and community partners, and student organizations
- Create an evidence-informed health promotion curriculum across health and wellness topics
- Oversee peer educator curriculum, facilitation, and related programming
- Cultivate relationships with Main Campus and Capitol Campus partners
- Co-lead mandated bystander training for incoming undergraduate students
- Administer mandated online trainings on sexual violence prevention, mental well-being, and alcohol and other drugs
- Supervise the Wellbeing and Health Promotion Specialist, Wellbeing Student Program Assistants, and a graduate assistant
- Interface with the Director of Health Education Services, Director of Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Services, Athletics, Title IX, Student Affairs, and other collaborators
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree preferred; relevant specialties include community health, higher education/student affairs, health promotion, public health, gender studies, community health education, and community organizing
- At least three years of full-time professional experience directly addressing sexual assault, domestic violence, interpersonal violence, primary prevention, survivor services, and/or training and technical assistance desired
- At least two years of full-time professional experience addressing health and wellness topics, program development, curriculum planning, and related areas
- In-depth knowledge of college health promotion and wellbeing topics, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and interpersonal violence prevention programming
- Understanding of contemporary best practices and research in health promotion, interpersonal violence prevention strategies, alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, and mental health
- Ability to utilize population health data to inform prevention strategies
- Ability to coordinate logistics for complex, large-scale programs, including record keeping, planning, and implementation
- Ability to center historically excluded and marginalized communities’ narratives and tailor programs to their needs
- Experience in higher education, health promotion, or student affairs preferred
- Understanding of social justice in interpersonal violence prevention preferred
- Experience developing, facilitating, and coordinating interpersonal violence prevention education, professional development, training, and outreach preferred
- Knowledge of social norms marketing, survivor services, and/or perpetrator accountability practices preferred
- Knowledge of health promotion, wellbeing, inclusive education, and holistic education preferred
- Victim advocacy or survivor service provider experience desirable; direct survivor services and confidential-information handling preferred
