About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serves as a primary contact for prospective and admitted students
  • Maintaining a portion of the 14,000+ applications for six M.D. and dual-degree programs
  • Responding to questions and concerns regarding admissions policies, procedures, requirements and other related information.
  • Communicates mission and vision to maximize quality of applicants
  • Evaluates application credentials for first-round application cognitive and non-cognitive review
  • Presents an overview of the School of Medicine and the application process
  • Ensures successful management of the application management system
  • Interacts with vendors, the public, prospective and current applicants
  • Manages onboarding for interviewers
  • Meets with interview applicants
  • Supports the Student Ambassador Program
  • Manages the admissions office's social media presence
  • Prepares and analyzes data and metrics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to interact with all members of a team and administrative staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills
  • Public speaking skills and the ability to present the University in a positive way to diverse populations.
  • Two years of experience working in Admissions (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in basic web design, graphic design, and social media strategy/campaigns (preferred)
  • Comfort working with data and tracking basic applicant demographics/metrics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FERPA (preferred)
