About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advancing McDonough School of Business’s communications strategy
- Effectively communicating faculty research, thought leadership, student experiences, and programmatic priorities
- Developing and executing integrated communications strategies
- Serving as media relations manager and collaborating with marketing and communications colleagues
- Contributing to content creation to elevate school visibility
- Executing communications around Dean’s Office initiatives and other school priorities
- Coordinating media relations and managing relationships with PR agencies
- Participating in the execution of the school’s editorial strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or strategic communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading abilities
- Proven organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting deadlines
- Experience managing clientele and stakeholders, or agency experience
- Experience with website content management systems, such as WordPress, and email solutions like Mass Mailer, Marketing Cloud, or MailChimp.
- Experience with AP style preferred
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Experience working in higher education, nonprofits, or research-intensive organizations.
