About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with the Director of Academic Affairs in the Center for Security Studies (CSS)/Security Studies Program (SSP) to provide student advising, registration, and related academic support to approximately 150-200 of the 550+ SSP graduate students
  • Responsible for academic record management
  • One of the primary points of contact for GU Experience at SSP
  • Foster a supportive and structured environment to ensure student success and smooth path toward graduation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of professional experience in academic advising or closely related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service are essential
  • Intercultural communication skills and experience working with diverse student populations are highly desirable.
