About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Engaging with students with disabilities in an interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations
  • Communicating with Law Center faculty to facilitate academic accommodations
  • Collaborating with campus partners to ensure an accessible curricular and co-curricular experience for students
  • Scheduling and coordinating implementation of ASL Interpreters and CART Writers
  • Reviewing accommodation requests and consulting with Lawrence Center faculty

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree in higher education administration, special education, rehabilitation counseling, human services, or other relevant discipline preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in an academic environment
  • Familiarity with the application of Section 504 and the ADA in the higher education setting
  • Ability to interpret medical, psychological, neuropsychological and educational documentation
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and their application to students
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in managing confidential information
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and careful attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Adobe
