About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • developing, implementing, monitoring, and staffing all aspects of a higher education clinical case management system
  • work closely with Georgetown University staff clinicians, Student Outreach and Support (SOS) staff members, and other staff and faculty to identify and assess higher risk students
  • provide brief intervention and/or bridged clinical care as needed while securing appropriate referrals for students requiring a higher level of care
  • perform triage, clinical assessments, brief intervention/bridged care, referral services and follow-up to students presenting with a wide range of mental health needs
  • offer crisis intervention and risk assessment for students presenting with risk to self or others
  • partner with university and local first responders in facilitating emergency mental health evaluations
  • develop and maintain a community resource database across Georgetown University campus networks, serving as a referral source for resources that address various student needs
  • maintain confidentiality of student information based on ethical and legal guidelines
  • provide general consultation to faculty, staff, students, other university offices, and family members who may be concerned about a student’s well-being or mental health
  • participate in various committees, advisory groups, and mental health/wellness coalitions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in social work
  • Must possess clinical licensure with the District of Columbia Department of Health (LICSW)
  • Two years post-graduate experience in providing mental health clinical case management/care management with complex systems.
  • Excellent clinical skills and ability to make sound analytical/diagnostic determinations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality work without close supervision
  • Proven track record establishing and maintaining effective working relationships both within the university and with outside agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
